IRF Layouts and Exhibits

Two sponsors of our show, Sacramento Modular Railroaders and European Train Enthusiasts, will be operating their large club model railroads at this year's show! Another sponsor club, the Sierra Division of the National Model Railroad Association, will display exhibits related to model railroading, NMRA standards, and information about the NMRA.

We also invite other clubs from this region to set up and operate their outstanding layouts so there will be model railroads at the show that represent the different model railroad scales. You and your family will have an opportunity to observe these different sized operating model railroads.

Model Railroad Layouts and Exhibits which will be on
display and operating at this year's show:

1. New - North Coast Narrow Gaugers HOn3 12x29. This is the first time their rebuilt layout is on display at Railfair. It features Colorado scenery and is operated with DCC.

2. European Train Enthusiasts (ETE) - HO scale layout 13 x 19 featuring European scenery and trains and overhead catenary operation.

3. Fischer Bros. European HO - 14x28 layout featuring European scenery and trains and overhead catenary operation.

4. Sacramento Modular Railroaders 25x38 HO layout featuring large yard with operating turntable and other steam facilities at one end. Diesel facilities including an operating transfer table are located at the other end of the yard. Many buildings in the yard and on modules are lighted. Layout is double track and features many sound equipped trains running at the same time, all operated with Digitrax DCC.

5. SMR Junior engineer HO layout where kids can operate a train and receive a Junior Engineer Badge.

7. Paul Brink will run his outdoor live steam G scale trains on a 22x34 portable track loop featuring 3 tracks.

8. Sacramento Valley Garden Railway Club will bring their 16x32 G scale modular layout that features an operating saw mill and other action scenes.

9. Roseville Roudhouse Model RR Club permanent N scale layout with mountain scenery and tunnels.

10. Roseville Roudhouse Model RR Club modular HO scale layout - 16 x 32.

11. Aaron Splawn - Sn3 2x20 logging railroad with sound and great scenery.

12.Sierra Division On30 Time Saver layout that the public can operate, both kids and adults.

13. Sierra Division Brio train set where the real young kids can play while the parents run the Time Saver.

14. Sacramento Valley Live Steamers will have their outdoor train ride where kids can ride behind a steam engine for a small fee.

15. Sacramento Valley Locomotive Works will show and tell the public how they build live steam locomotives. Some on display will operate with compressed air.

16. Outdoor static display of a 5 ton, 2 foot gauge Porter locomotive that was used at the Oliver Bros. Salt Works in Hayward.

17. Outdoor display of MOW speeder with information for getting your own.
